«Ich denke im internationalen Bereich gibt es so etwas wie ein window of opportunity; verschiedene Faktoren die zusammenspielen, die zum grossen Teil auch unabhängig vom Künstler sind. Und nur wenn man zur richtigen Zeit das Richtige macht, dann schafft man den Durchbruch; sprich ein Release, welches auch Anklang findet. Dieser internationale Durchbruch kann allerdings nicht mit dem nationalen Erfolg gleichgesetzt werden, denn die Labels bleiben international, oder besser, einfach nicht schweizerisch (mit der Ausnahme von Lux Rec.). Deshalb braucht es wohl für einen nationalen Durchbruch viel zusätzliches hustlin’, um die internationale Aufmerksamkeit auch auf das Nationale zu übertragen. Das kommt dann nicht unbedingt von den Labels aus, sondern muss auch von den Künstlern kommen. Und so wie ich das sehe, hustlen weder Deetron noch Echo 106, was ich auch als das Richtige empfinde. Vielleicht könnte man schneller mehr erreichen, aber sollte man das? UR und so?»

«Ich hab den „Palm Leaves“-Track von Gerd in einem Boiler Room Set von Motor City Drum Ensemble gehört und mir die Platte gekauft. Auf der B Seite der Platte waren dann zwei Remixes von Deetron, die ganz okay waren. Mir war damals aber noch nicht bewusst, dass er aus der Schweiz kommt — und da die beiden Remixes nicht so „mindblowing“ waren hab ich mich auch nicht weiter darum gekümmert. Das nächste Mal in Kontakt mit ihm kam ich an der Stadtfrequenz-Party in der Schüür.»

«Deetron entdeckte ich so im Jahre 1998 durch seine 12" auf Compost als Procreation. Die Scheibe war damals sehr futuristisch und hat mich weggehauen. Ich kannte aber seinen Namen schon länger durch seine Gigs in Zürich.»
