Das Label verbindet verschiedene Stile elektronischer Musik stimmig durch ein authentisches Gesamtkonzept. Gleiches gelingt auch den Young-Echo-Jungs, die eine gemeinsame Ästhetik verfolgen und, ähnlich wie Livity Sound, der Quintessenz des Bristol Sounds ziemlich nahe kommen.»

Umso erfrischender, dass manche Leute dann ganz kompromisslos ihr Ding durchziehen. Mism Records, die Hula Honeys, Lux, Creaked – sie alle haben eine klare Linie, verfolgen eine bestimmte Ästhetik. Das macht sie unbestechlich und deshalb auch ziemlich sexy.»

Punk Auswuchs

 

«Was die Musik anbelangt, so hab ich mich eigentlich nie für den klassischen 77er Punk interessiert. Ich fand die Auswüchse davon immer spannender. Die Anfänge vom Industrial, New Wave oder natürlich auch Hardcore-Punk… da fühlte und fühle ich mich am meisten zuhause. Ich finde es spannend, wenn verschiedene Elemente zusammengefügt werden. Sei es auf rein musikalischer Ebene oder auch wenn es um eine Medium-übergreifende Ästhetik geht. Es gab wohl schon immer einen Graben zwischen der Working Class und den Art Students. Das wurde dann auch ideologisch so aufgebauscht, nun wie dem auch sei, ich war halt nie Working Class. Und ich finde den Anspruch, dass Punk auch klug sein darf gar nicht mal so doof.»

Outranging Dub

 «Ich beschäftige mich schon seit ich denken kann mit elektronischer Musik und habe zahlreiche verschiedene Genres gehört und gespielt. In meiner Kindheit nahm Trance und Rave eine grosse Rolle ein, was mich dementsprechend prägte.

Seit einigen Jahren beschäftige ich mich intensiv mit Dub Techno, bei welchem mich, wie auch früher schon bei Trance oder nach wie vor im Ambient/Drone-Bereich, die Sphären, die erzeugten Emotionen, der Hypnosezustand, die Vielfalt, die Tiefe und Tiefgründigkeit und einfach die Klangästhetik von zahlreichen Produktionen an sich besonders fasziniert. Auch der Fakt, dass es eine verhältnissmässig kleine Nische ist, in der ich meiner Individualität und Kreativität freien Lauf lassen kann, ist mit einer der Gründe, warum Dub Techno einen festen Platz in meinem Leben und in meinem Herzen gefunden hat.»

In der Schweiz brauchen wir mehr eigene Labels, auf welchen Musik erscheint und mehr Produzenten. Wir brauchen eine eigene Szene und müssen uns weniger an anderen orientieren. Es sollen auch ohne Kompromisse gewisse Dinge abgelehnt werden. Mehr Experimente! - Weiter muss über das Ganze reflektiert werden. Eine gemeinsame Ästhetik und Sprache muss her. Wir können nicht nur feiern, sondern müssen auch über das Ganze nachdenken.»
